Welcome to the website of the Board for Christian Formation (BCF) of the Uniting Church in Australia Queensland Synod.
The purpose of this website is to provide information about the work of the BCF, as well as ready access to documents of the BCF which may be needed from time to time by presbyteries, congregations, and individuals. We hope that you will find the website helpful. Please contact us if you require any further information.
The BCF exists to support, resource and develop theological education and ministry formation of candidates for the specified ministries of the UCA and of lay people within the Church, in order to glorify God and enhance the Church's participation in the ministry and mission of Christ. It has oversight of a range of matters related to the Network for Christian Formation, which includes Trinity Theological College and the Pilgrim Learning Community, their faculty and teaching staff, students and resources, and to the work of the wider Church.
The roles and responsibilities of the BCF are set down in the By-Laws of the Queensland Synod and in the Regulations of the Uniting Church in Australia for Ministerial Education Boards. The BCF reports to the UCA Assembly Ministerial Education Commission, the Queensland Synod in Session and the Council of Synod.
